SWITCHBOARD

Terms of Service

Last updated: 16 September 2026

1. The agreement

These terms govern your use of SwitchBoard, field-service management software for trade businesses, provided at theswitchboard.io and app.theswitchboard.io. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to do so.

2. Your account

3. Your data

The records you enter — customers, quotes, invoices, appointments, parts, hours — remain yours. We hold them on your behalf in order to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy. You can export them, and you can ask us to delete them.

You are responsible for having the right to enter the information you enter, including information about your customers, and for using it lawfully.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use SwitchBoard to send unsolicited bulk messages, to impersonate anybody, to store or transmit unlawful content, to attempt to access another business's records, or to interfere with the operation or security of the service.

5. Messages sent through SwitchBoard

SwitchBoard sends email and, where enabled, text messages on your instruction. The content of those messages is yours, and you are responsible for it, including compliance with the rules that govern commercial messaging where you operate. We may suspend sending where messages generate complaints or put delivery for other customers at risk.

6. Connected accounts

Connecting a Google account is optional and can be disconnected at any time, from inside SwitchBoard or from your Google account directly. What we access, and what we do not, is set out in the privacy policy.

7. Fees

Paid plans are billed in advance for the period stated at sign-up. Usage-based charges — such as messages sent or AI usage beyond an allowance — are billed in arrears and shown in the application before they are invoiced. Fees are exclusive of tax unless stated.

8. Availability

We work to keep SwitchBoard available and to give notice of planned maintenance, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Parts of the product depend on third parties — email delivery, hosting, payment processing, Google — and an outage at one of those can affect it.

9. Ending it

You may stop using SwitchBoard and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms, or where required by law. On closure you can export your data; after a reasonable period we delete it, subject to any records we must keep.

10. Liability

SwitchBoard is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data, and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

SwitchBoard helps you keep records and produce documents. It does not provide legal, accounting, tax or licensing advice, and it is not a substitute for the professional obligations of a licensed trade.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Where a change is significant we will tell account holders directly, and the date at the top of this page will change.
